Feminity in difficult times

The value of breast cancer screening pograms is a controversial topic in many lay articles that discuss the pros and cons of widespread mammography. Unfortunately many of the caveats that have been brought forward are not correct. It is now commonly accepted that regular mammography has significantly reduced breast cancer mortality in the industralized world. The earlier a malignant tumor is detected, the more likely it is curable, and the smaller the curative surgery can be planned. Modern mammography machines work with minimal irradiation and potential health hazards are therefore negligible.
